Cycle South Brum

Cycling is a great way to Move More and get active whilst reducing transport costs and environmental impact. Whether you’ve been referred to us or you are just keen to get out there and get active then we are here to help. We do group sessions of Learn to ride for children, an Improvers session which follows the Bikability Level 1 outcomes and adult cycling tuition.

Improvers – Group Cycling Tuition Class

This class is for children who can consistently pedal 10 metres without help and without stabilisers.

Our aim on this course is to teach each attendee the basic competences they need in order to enjoy cycling safely, subject to timing and progress,

You will need a roadworthy bike to take part and we request that all participants wear a helmet. Bike hire is also available for attendees but is limited, please let us if you need to hire a bike at time of booking. Children must be accompanied by an adult. These classes are free for those in the move more eat well area however there is a £5 registration fee the first time you book, this is to deter no-shows.

The group cycling instruction class is free of charge, but please consider making a donation to Northfield Ecocentre to support the running costs of Cycle South Brum.

Bikability Cycling Tuition 

   

We are also excited to be offering bikeability courses. This course is for cyclist who require more confiendence, practical skills and understanding of how to cycle on the road. Bikeability gives everyone the skills and confidence for all kinds of cycling.

There are three Bikeability levels, each designed to improve cycling skills, no matter what is known already. Levels 1, 2 and 3 take trainees from the basics of balance and control, all the way to planning and making an independent journey on busier roads.

Other Cycling Activities with Cycle South Brum

Are you interested in learning to cycle or how to maintain your bike? Are you looking to improve your confidence when cycling on the road, to work or with your family? Fancy coming on a led cycle ride?
